Indeed, the name of Subash Chandra Bose is worth mentioning in the Indian Freedom Struggle.
Bose joined the Indian National Congress after quitting his high paid "ICS" job due to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by Gen.Dwayer. He then started the Forward Block. With the great support of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar, he raised 30 lakhs of soldiers, particularly Maravar people from "Nellai Seemai".With this support, Bose conveyed the message to Gandhiji about the determined war against the British to drive them out of India.
The movement for freedom was certainly moving at a great speed, while Bose did not accept Gandhi’s principle of "Non-violence". He also negated Attlee's decision to convene a constitution-making body to form a self - government for India.
Meanwhile, Jinnah convened a meeting to achieve Pakistan by force. The Congress including Gandhiji became quiet, except Rajaji.
Unfortunately, before India gained independence, we lost Netaji in a suspected plane crash. It is believed that if Gandhiji and other leaders had accepted Subhas Chandra Bose’s leadership, India could have achieved liberation much earlier than 1947 and potentially attained the status of a "Super Force Nation as envisioned by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in his Vision 2020 for India.
Regardless, let’s preserve the freedom we have gained by honoring the legacy of Netaji, whether he is alive or not.
"Delhi Chalo - Jai Hind".
