A photo is a remnant of one's past. Photography is a skill that can be conquered with sheer passion. A photographer is the wielder of a powerful weapon that shapes human perception.
It all started on a pleasant morning of 30th August, the students of grade IX to XII embarked on the journey to 'Petunia' to know the anticipated results of the photography contest held among school students and college students by “Clusters Media College”. This initiative was meant to encourage the zest for photography from a young age.
The event commenced divinely by the lightning of a lamp. The chief guest Mr.N.N. Parasuram, M.D of Savithri Photo House Pvt.Ltd, CBE, addressed the gathering in an inspiring manner by narrating a story - "An engineering student wanted to be a photographer at any cost. Her mother couldn't afford a camera but she bought it in our shop respecting her daughter's decision. The woman has now become a leading baby photographer in India and abroad too. Hence, never give up on your dreams." The principal, Dr. Gunalan appreciated the participants and reminded them of the fact that everyone is a photographer in today's world and can sharpen their skills in the right manner. The chairman, Mr. Aravindan. S recounted his journey in photography, the struggles he faced and the lessons he learnt. Other guests were Mr. Muzammil Ahamed, M.D Signature movements and Mr. S. SoundarRajan, ASSM. Sony India Pvt.Ltd. Mr. Muzammil had reminded the fact that we humans have so much to learn and narrated how he is self made because he is open to new insights.
After the speeches were delivered, the prices were given away. Nithilan (grade VIII) and Adhirajan (grade IX) of our school succeeded in the contest by capturing the eyes of the viewers through their photographs.
A mimicry performance was followed to entertain the audience. The artist had imitated A.P.J Abdul Kalam to address the students and a verse in Tamil to showcase its illustriousness.
The students were taken to the galleries where various types of photos were displayed. Various ancient cameras were put up. The projects of the college students were presented. Portraits as well as lively drawings were showcased. Each and every picture narrated a story and depicted some deep meaning that left the viewers gobstruck who looked at them without chronoception.
By the end of the day, the students felt a profound sense of motivation to accomplish any goals of their lives and acquired artistic knowledge that altered the way of perceiving life and its beauty.
